Rev Dr. Timothy J. Keller

Timothy J. Keller (born 1950) is an American author, speaker, and the founding pastor of
Redeemer Presbyterian Church in New York. The church grew from 50 people in 1989 to its
current attendance of nearly 5000. His target audience consists mainly of urban professionals. Redeemer started a church-planting center in 2001 and has helped start over 100 churches of various denominations in the New York City area and around the world. Among the ministries of Redeemer, there is the "Redeemer's Center for Faith & Work", the cultural renewal arm of the church, which was founded to equip, connect, and mobilize the church community in their professional and industry spheres toward gospel-centered transformation for the common good.

Keller holds degrees from Bucknell University, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, and Westminister Theological Seminary, where he received his D.Min. His book The Reason for God: Belief in an Age of Skepticism was named Book of the Year 2008 by World Magazine, a conservative evangelical news magazine. It rose as high as #7 on the New York Times Nono-Fiction Best-Seller list in March of 2008.
